Bernardo Funeral Homes Ltd. opened its doors at the Dufferin Street location in 1968. It started off as a small single-story building in what was essentially empty farmlands along the Dufferin Street corridor. In the 70’s the second story was added to the building to accommodate more visitation rooms. Over the years we’ve added parking by means of purchasing the lot located adjacent to the building to accommodate vehicles for visitors and families. We can proudly say that we have one of the largest parking lots of any funeral home in Toronto and are centrally located, only about 2 km south of highway 401 at Yorkdale. In 1998 we undertook our most recent addition, adding a larger lounge and visitation suites. As we proceed forward into the future we continually add to our services and amenities. For example, we recently undertook a new technology infrastructure that helped us live stream services when the COVID-19 Pandemic took place. As restrictions were placed on funerals, we were able to broadcast funerals to friends and family locally and anywhere in the world. Continually, we undergo cosmetic updates inside and outside of our facility and strive to offer you the best we possibly can in both services and amenities. We’ve operated under the motto “from our families to yours” and this is still true today and a family run business. We continuously try to make improvements with the mindset of what we would look for if we were to be served.
